Im Office
With biting humor, Elisabeth Pape looks behind the facade of the brave new world of work. She ruthlessly reveals how much neoliberal structures have permeated people and in doing so exacerbate social injustice instead of creating a good life for all.
Premiere on November 12, 2024 | Zimmertheater Tübingen
Everything is running smoothly in the office. Chelsea, Rudi and Pey are pioneers for progressive solutions in a highly dynamic environment. Flat hierarchies, a Move & Relax Zone and matcha latte for everyone ensure a good work-life balance. But then a new colleague shakes up the everyday working life: Isi grew up in poverty and is eyed with curiosity by the others. However, she pursues her own goals and puts the office to the test: Does work give you a meaning in life? If work disappears, who are you then? And who benefits from you finding your meaning in life in work? In the struggle for answers, the beliefs of the others begin to crumble...

The Zimmertheater Tübingen begins the season with Elisabeth Pape's evil office grotesque [...] It succeeds brilliantly in the setting by Raissa Kankelfitz, directed by Isabella Sedlak.
"In the Office" is a wicked play - and very funny. Office workers are recommended to see it together.

In the feel-good treadmill of horror: For Elisabeth Pape's "In the Office", the ITZ transforms the Löwen venue into the modern working world of what is surely an incredibly great, totally flexible and extremely successful company.
There would be no need to test the audience's alertness with the joke of a text that appears briefly before part 3. Nobody is sleeping here and it's funny anyway.
